The Khilafat Movement 1919 was essentially a movement to express Muslim support for the Caliph (Sultan ) of Turkey  The worldwide muslims considered Khalifa as the successor of Prophet Muhammad. The Muslims of India accepted Khalifa of Turkey as their spiritual leader.
