If the reporting verb is in the Present or Future Tense , the tense of the reported speech does not change He says, “ I am reading” He says that he is reading She will say, "I wash my hair every day." She will say that she washes her hair every day In reported speech the tense of the verb changes as follows Simple   present - simple past Leela said, “I write a letter”.
