  • Example : at 10 o’ clock , at Kollam


  • in - for countries, big towns cities, month, year, seasons
  • Example : in Japan, in Delhi, in March, in 1980, in winter


  • on - days of the week
  • Example : on Monday

  • into - to a position in or inside something,  to indicate the direction
  • Example : go into the house , dived into water


  • since- from a certain point of time until now
  • Example : since monday , since 1985 , since 6' O clock , since January


  • for - over a certain period of time
  • Example: for 2 years


  • between - involves two persons or things
  • Example : The train runs between Bombay and Delhi


  • among - involves more than two
  • Example: There is no unity among the leaders.


  • beside - by the side of 
  • Example : The child sits beside its mother.


  • besides - in addition to 
  • Example : Besides the students, their parents were also present.
