Khilafat Movement

The Khilafat Movement 1919 was essentially a movement to express Muslim support for the Caliph (Sultan ) of Turkey

The worldwide muslims considered Khalifa as the successor of Prophet Muhammad. The Muslims of India accepted Khalifa of Turkey as their spiritual leader.

After First World War British remove the Khalifa from Power and fragmented Turkey

The Muslims in India became anti British, as the power and influence of their religious leader was ended

Khilafat committee was formed under the leadership of Ali brothers (Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali)

Movement of Hindu-Muslim Unity

It was in 1919 September , the first all India Khilafat conference was held in Lucknow
