The Khilafat Movement 1919 was essentially a movement to express Muslim support for the Caliph (Sultan ) of Turkey
The worldwide muslims considered Khalifa as the successor of Prophet Muhammad. The Muslims of India accepted Khalifa of Turkey as their spiritual leader.
After First World War British remove the Khalifa from Power and fragmented Turkey
The Muslims in India became anti British, as the power and influence of their religious leader was ended
