Poorna Swaraj Resolution



 The Lahore session of the Congress in 1929 held under the presidentship of Jawaharlal Nehru passed resolution for Poorna Swaraj as goal of national movement.

Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the newly adopted Tricolour Flag in the midnight on 31 December 1929 on the bank of river Ravi.


Lahore Conference fixed 26 January 1930 as independent day. Later in this memory, 26 January 1950 is selected as Republic day, which is also the day in which Indian Constitution came into existence.
