• Ex-officio chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
• He is elected by an electoral college consisting of members of both the houses of Parliament by single transferable vote.
• Term 5 years
• Minimum age 35 years
• The oath of office of the vice President administered by the President.
• Submit resignation to President
• Can be removed from office by a resolution of the Rajyasabha .This resolution must be agreed by Loksabha (no impeachment)
