On 3 June 1947 , Lord Mountbatten ( Governor General ) put forward plan which highlighted the steps for the solution of India's political problem


The Indian Independence Act 1947 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent dominions of India and Pakistan

Accepted by all parties 


Pakistan came into being on 14 August and India came into being on 15 August.
